Riccardo Monte is an architect and maker working across product, furniture and architectural design. His practice is defined by slow craftsmanship and a dedication to material authenticity.
He worked as an architect with awardwinning architecture practices whilst living in London for eight years, eventually moving to back to his home in Ornavasso, Italy to set up his own multidisciplinary design studio.
His journey from the haze of the city to the mountain tops was recorded in the book City Quitters: Creative Pioneers Pursuring Post-Urban Life.
He exhibited his ‘Bosco Collection’ in Milan at the Salone del Mobile and Genova Design Week.
Riccardo’s work are sold worldwide, includ- ing USA and Japan.
Riccardo is still a practicing architect and is currently designing the conversion of a XIX building into a museum space.
The designs of this collection are sculptural, organic and primitive. Riccardo enhances the natural beauty of the material he works with for each piece, giving it character and individuality. They offer the customer a piece of Art for their living space and home.
Riccardo is directly involved in the design and the hand made process of each product. All materials are sourced locally and he employs traditional techniques in his execution with a modern approach.
